You OTTER get to know us.
Team 8841 is and Orlando-based FRC 501-3(c) robotics program dedicated to making STEAM education equitable and accessible for local high-school aged students. Through hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, we help students gain valuable technical and problem-solving skills while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
Guided by professionals from diverse industries, students explore career pathways, prepare for higher education, and access real-world opportunities. Above all, we are a team that learns, competes, and has fun—together.
ABOUT FIRST
FIRST is the world’s leading youth robotics community, delivering hands-on STEM learning that inspires innovation, builds confidence, and prepares kids for life. Across the globe, students thrive in our programs — powered by mentorship, teamwork, creativity, and engineering challenges.
STEM EDUCATION
Students learn about mechanical, electrical, and software engineering as well as valuable interview and presentation skills.
MENTORSHIP
Student learn from industry leaders across engineering professions and give back by participating in outreach initiatives within the FIRST community.
TEAMWORK
FIRST gives students the opportunity to build lasting friendships while being part of an exciting, collaborative team. Through shared challenges and creative problem-solving, participants learn, grow, and succeed together.

Foundations in Engineering Through Robotics

Mechanical
The Mechanical sub-team designs, builds, and refines the robot’s physical structure and mechanisms, turning strategic ideas into durable, competition-ready hardware.

Electrical
The Electrical subteam wires, powers, and safeguards the robot’s control systems, ensuring every motor, sensor, and component works reliably under pressure.

Software
The Software subteam programs the robot’s brain, developing autonomous routines and driver controls that transform hardware into intelligent, responsive performance.
