Mechanical Mentors
The mechanical sub-team is headed by Mr. Phu Nguyen and Mr. Marcus Robinson. Mr. Nguyen has over 28 years of experience with FRC as a mentor and over the course of his career has worked as a Technical Program Manager for Universal Studios, a Mechanical Engineer for Disney, an Aerospace Engineer for the US Department of Defense, and a Mechanical Engineer for NASA. Mr. Robinson has 10 years experience as an educator in Engineering, Robotics, and Mathematics. Mr. Robinson has five years of experience mentoring for FIRST. Both Mr. Nguyen and Mr. Robinson were founding mentors for OTTER and have been with the team since their rookie season in 2021.
Electrical Mentors
The Electrical sub-team is headed by Mr. Alexander Pennock and Mrs. Elizabeth Nguyen. Mr. Pennock has 16 years of experience coaching FRC teams, specializing in electrical and control systems.
Software Mentors
Our software sub-team is headed by Mr. Austin Langley and Mr. Brian Zollo. Mr. Zollo began his experience with FRC as a high school student, and has participated as a mentor since 2017. He is now Lead Electrician with Florida Coach, Inc. and is a founding mentor with OTTER.
Outreach & Marketing Mentors
Our Outreach & Marketing sub-team is headed by Ms. Melissa Sieja and Mr. Marcus Robinson, with support from Mrs. Elizabeth Nguyen. Ms. Sieja has three years of experience mentoring OTTER and over 15 years experience as an educator in STEM. She currently supports OTTER via her role as a Marketing Coordinator for a civil engineering firm in Oviedo, Florida.
